The photo above is hot off the press as I just got back from Bradley Quinn’s talk at OCAD on the Future of Fashion. LED lights woven into fabric and the Apple watch are just the tip of the iceberg. Continue reading

Things are picking up! It has been quiet for awhile on the local fashion scene, but slowly sales, lectures, and events have started to pop up. Does this mean spring is coming too? Continue reading

Fresh Collective fans, August is a stellar month for you! A collective of three Toronto boutiques specializing in woman’s wear by local designers, Fresh has announced three events happening this month. First up? Tea Time with Terri-Leigh! Hosted by the adorable Terri-Leigh, tea, treats, discounts and deals await you every Monday in August from 4-7pm. So if you’re one of those lucky bunnies with a free Monday, hop on over to their Kensington Market location. First time Fresh visitor? TRY to resist their amazing selection of dresses! I kid you not. I’m a lady who loves her dresses. I saw this Annie 50 dress on the Fresh website and am in love!

If you’re looking for something a little different but still sartorial, check out FASHION: A Night of Live Storytelling. WORN Fashion Journal and Racounteurs Storytelling are inviting people to share their stories about what clothing means to them. The criteria? All stories must be true, have happened to the teller, and be 7-10 mins long. More details can be found at the event link. Oh, if you’re reading this, I’m sure you have a few style stories to tell. I would talk about my collection of concert t-shirts; each one comes with a fun anecdote! They are currently sitting at the bottom of my closet, waiting to be made into a patchwork quilt. One day you WILL happen, quilt, one day.
